SOLA Athlete to Play with All Stars

Special Olympics Louisiana is proud to announce that Jacob Majors of Lake Charles, LA has been selected to be part of the third annual NBA Cares Special Olympics Unified Sports Basketball Game, as part of this year’s at NBA All-Star Jam Session in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 1:00 p.m. CST, prior to the 63rd NBA All-Star Game that evening. This year’s Unified Sports Basketball Game will feature 12 Special Olympics athletes from around the globe, including Majors, playing alongside NBA and WNBA players and legends.

Don’t be caught Freezin’ without a Reason

Our annual Freezin’ for a Reason Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge (R) for Special Olympics Louisiana is this month! We will have three location for you to choose from: February 8th in Shreveport, February 15th in Lake Charles and February 22nd in Gonzales. Unified Leadership Workshop

This weekend, February 7-8, the Special Olympics Louisiana community will come together in Lake Charles, LA for a Unified Leadership Workshop.  Athletes, partners, coaches, family members and volunteers will meet to learn how to become better leaders in their specified areas.SOLA Youth Leaders

The week will kick off with a general session on Friday evening, followed by some fun leadership games! Sessions will focus on such topics as “The Do’s and Don’ts of Social Media” & “How to conduct yourself as a leader.”
