The Miss Hope for Equality Pageant was held recently as a fundraiser for Special Olympics Louisiana. A male and female SOLA athlete from the Bayouland and the Florida Parishes areas were crowned! Congratulations!
This morning the Flame of Hope was lit, according to tradition, in Athens, Greece today and it will soon be flown to the U.S. to begin it’s journey to the World Games in L.A. The flame will arrive in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA on May 19 and then light the three torches that will simultaneously travel across the United States as part of the Unified Relay Across America presented by Bank of America, May 26 – July 10.
The flame will then be transferred to the World Games Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg team, who will carry it to the opening ceremony of the Games on July 25.
