State Fall Classic will take place in Carencro, LA on beginning tonight and will feature 750 Special Olympics Louisiana athletes and partners competing in aquatics, horseshoes, and softball! We will start the weekend with Opening Ceremonies TONIGHT, October 14th for 6:30pm at Pelican Park. All are invited to witness the Parade of Athletes and Flame of Hope!
Competitions will kick off Saturday, October 15th and run through Sunday, October 16th. Join us tonight and be a Fan in the Stands for Opening Ceremonies!

Volunteers play a integral role at all of our events. At State Fall Classic, volunteers serve in a number of roles, including umpiring softball games and keeping score for horseshoes. If you need service hours for school (or work) SFC is a great way to obtain them!

State Fall Classic will take place October 17-19, 2014 in Carencro, LA. Nnearly 400 Special Olympics Louisiana athletes who qualified for this event will compete in Aquatics, Horseshoes, and Softball. Along with competition, Healthy Athletes and Olympic Town will take place. All are welcome to attend and cheer on our athletes!

This past weekend in Carencro, LA we had close to 400 athletes participate in aquatics, horseshoes and softball. It was a great weekend with lots of highlights! Friday night included: Chuck Childress from 106.7FM served as Master of Ceremonies, Maria Placer, Executive Director 232-HELP/ LA211 was Honorary Chair, Honorary Coach was Tony Robichaux, ULL Head Baseball Coach and the Grand Marshal was John Boudreaux, State Deputy-Knights of Columbus. Lighting the “Flame of Hope” was Special Olympics Louisiana Southwest athlete Lori Burr (pictured on the right alongside her unified partner). On Saturday, the athletes enjoyed participating in Olympic Town and Healthy Athletes. Several of our young athletes (ages 2 – 7) enjoyed the Healthy Athletes venues as well. To top it all off they enjoyed a victory dance on Saturday night!
We are just under 2 weeks away from State Fall Classic! We are gearing up for over 400 athletes to participate in aquatics, horseshoes, and softball in Carencro, LA.
We’ll get things kicked off on Friday, October 18th at 6pm with our Opening Ceremonies at Pelican Park. All are invited to attend and cheer on our athletes as they parade in! Then, Saturday morning we will get competition kicked off at 8am.
