Jacob Rogers - Young Athlete

Since 2007, Special Olympics Louisiana has implemented the SMALL STEPS, BIG LEAPS program which is for children 2 to 7 years old.

Small Steps, Big Leaps (also known as the Young Athlete Program) is a sports play program that introduces children 2 to 7 yrs. old to sports prior to competition for Special Olympics at age eight. It utilizes physical activities to develop fundamental motor tracking & eye-hand coordination play. Children build skills through planned activities on a regular basis and apply these skills in preparation for later competition. Special Olympics Louisiana has interactive kits and resource guides available for those that are interested.
