NOLA Over the Edge was a success this past Friday in New Orleans! Over 40 participants rappelled down Benson Tower then took aim at the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT Training Facility.
Throughout the day, you could hear Doug Mouton of WWLTV, speaking about the event and the participants. New Orleans own, 610 Stompers were even on hand to show us some dance moves and rappel! Thank you for being with us.
We would also like to thank our Partners for this event: Cox Communications, McCranie Sistrunk Anzelmo Hardy McDaniel and Welch LLC, Special Children’s Foundations, New Orleans Saints, Corporate Realty, Ochsner, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Kenner Police Department, Grooves Entertainment, and White Donut Productions. Thank you for your help with 2014 NOLA Over the Edge!
We hope to see you at NOLA Over the Edge next year!

Are you a thrill seeker? Are you about to go Over the Edge? We can help!
Special Olympics Louisiana presents Over the Edge the Ultimate S.W.A.T. Experience on Friday, September 7th. Start your day by rappelling down the 26 story Benson Tower, then get flown by helicopter from the Superdome to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT facility to go through several different training courses.
Pictured to the left, in the middle, is Special Olympics Louisiana athlete Donnie Guillory who is up for the challenge. Donnie did Over the Edge a few years ago and is ready to tackle Benson Tower. View his Fundraising Page.
People are busier today than ever. The kids have to be shuffled from event to event, work day hours turn into night time hours, meals have to be prepared. How can you give back to your community when you have so much to do? Is there ever time for fun? How do you decide to become involved in your community? What does an organization do to make you feel needed and valued?
– Pat Carpenter Bourgeois, President and CEO of Special Olympics Louisiana
