Creative Ways To Give

Endowments

Did you know? Making a donation through a planned gift is a great way to create a legacy of support for Special Olympics Louisiana, while providing for your own future. Through an Endowment donation, you can make a thoughtfully planned gift that benefits athletes today and well into the future.

Your gift will also go a long way toward changing views about people with intellectual disabilities. With the help of your Endowment donation, Special Olympics Louisiana can touch thousands more across the state of Louisiana. Hundreds of thousands of potential athletes could be reached by Special Olympics Louisiana if additional resources were available.

By making an Endowment donation, our supporters have an opportunity to make planned and major gifts, as well as contributions. Stock, real estate, and life insurance policies are popular ways to consider contributing to Special Olympics Louisiana. Individuals of all financial circumstances can participate in and benefit from an Endowment donation.

Planned Giving

20170304_131104

Special Olympics Louisiana provides sports training and competition opportunities to thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities. We are constantly striving to grow and expand our program. To insure we will be here in the future to meet the needs of our athletes, we must continue to find private funding. Your current donations are important, but Gifts of Planned Giving will make a difference for the future. They will help insure that Special Olympics Louisiana continues its mission well into the next century. The most common way to make a Gift of Planned Giving is by a bequest or legacy gift. A bequest in your will lets you pass any amount you wish to us free of estate tax in the United States. You may give a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. We encourage you to consult an attorney who specializes in estate planning to ensure your will best suits your needs and desires. For more information on giving to Special Olympics Louisiana, please call 1-800-345-6644 and visit www.specialolympics.org/legacy.  You may also email Connie Grandmason, Director, Bequests & Estate Gifts, SOI, at cgrandmason@specialolympics.org or toll free 866-690-3951.

Special Olympics Louisiana (SOLA) athlete and New Iberia resident, Camrin Sandoz, has been invited, for a 2nd time, to participate in the 2016 Perfect Sense Pro-Am Tournament.  The tournament is June 19 – 23, 2016 in Washington DC at Congressional Country Club.

This tournament will bring together individuals from a wide array of backgrounds; combining athletes with and without intellectual disabilities and PGA legends as teammates, highlighting how inclusion and acceptance can help unite communities.

Expanding on the success of the past four years, this weeklong event will create memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

We need your help to send SOLA Athlete, Camrin Sandoz and his escort to this event! Camrin just graduated Loreauville High School in Loreauville, Louisiana and is set to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the fall. He plays Unified Golf with Special Olympics Louisiana. Camrin trains hard, practices every day, and earned a spot on his high school golf team. He is thrilled to represent SOLA at the 2016 Perfect Sense Pro-Am Tournament and we need your help to get him there!

If we exceed our goal, we will use additional resources to build our SOLA golf program.

Today, you have the opportunity to give even more Special Olympics Louisiana athletes a chance to fulfill their dreams.

Thanks to a generous commitment from our partner FINISH LINE — a leading athletic retailer — Special Olympics has launched a $200,000 year-end, matching gift challenge.

And, in celebration of #GivingTuesday, we’re going even further: every gift received before midnight will be matched and then matched again! I hope you will seize this opportunity to bring the joy of sports into the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.

Make your #GivingTuesday donation and FINISH LINE will add in twice that amount – tripling your impact.

Through over 100 trainings and competitions each year, Special Olympics Louisiana engages more than 14,200 athletes. Your contribution can not only help support those athletes, it can give us the chance to reach more people, in Louisiana and around the world, for whom the Special Olympics experience can make all the difference.

#GivingTuesday is a wonderful day of giving and sharing when people all across the country make a difference for the causes that mean the most to them.  It’s a perfect time for you to express your commitment to the life-changing work of Special Olympics Louisiana.

Act right away to triple the impact of your #GivingTuesday donation.

We hope you will take a moment now to make your generous donation. Then, in the spirit of this celebration of giving, we hope you will share the news of your commitment with your friends and family.

Thanks so much for all that you do.
