Charity Miles

SPECIAL OLYMPICS: MAY 19

What is Charity Miles?
A free smart phone app, Charity Miles tracks exercise milage while allowing users to raise money for charities. Cyclists earn 10 cents per mile while walkers and runners can earn 25 cents a mile!

How to Use the Charity Miles App:
Compatible for iPhone and Android, users can download the free Charity Miles app from the App Store. Once users log in, they will swipe until they find the Special Olympics logo and then select as charity of choice. Users then select their type of exercise depending if they are walking, running, or cycling, and then click “Start.” After logging exercise mileage, users can post their work out details to Facebook and Twitter to show how much they’ve raised for Special Olympics!

R-Word Campaign

2015-stw-facebook-banner-1

Spread the Word to End the Word is an ongoing effort by Special Olympics, Best Buddies and our supporters to inspire respect and acceptance through raising the consciousness of society about the R-word and how hurtful words and disrespect can be toward people with intellectual disabilities.

The campaign, created by youth, is intended to engage schools, organizations and communities to rally and pledge their support at www.r-word.org and to promote the inclusion and acceptance of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Spread the word to END the word! We want YOU to take the pledge in stopping the use of this word.
