img_0081

This weekend was a great weekend for Special Olympics flag football! Athletes and unified partners from Nicholls State University and the surrounding area traveled to Lake Charles to compete in a unified flag football game against divisional rival McNeese State University. Nicholls held the lead until the final play of the first half when athlete Matthew Dubone scored on a 50 yard catch! McNeese went on to win the game 19-6. After the game, the two teams enjoyed friendly tailgate hosted by the McNeese Alumni Association. Following the tailgate, everyone went to watch the McNeese vs. Nicholls collegiate football game where the Cowboys trumped the Colonials once again. Everyone had a wonderful time this weekend and we are excited to see who wins next years game!
