Fire Truck Pull is this Saturday!

This Saturday you and nine of  your friends can pull a fire truck for Special Olympics Louisiana!  The event will be held at Ferrara Fire Apparatus in HoldeFP Area 2015 Fire Truck Pulln, LA.

It is not late to still register!  Be sure to read the flyer for registration information.

State Summer Games

State Summer Games is right around the corner!  May 22-24th to be exact.  The event will kick off on Friday, May 22nd inside Southeastern’s Strawberry Stadium at 7:30pm for Opening Ceremonies.  We invite all to attend to witness the Flame of Hope and the parade of athletes!

Then on Saturday athletes will compete in athletics, bocce, power lifting, and volleyball.  ALL events are free and open to the public.  Come cheer on our athletes as they compete!

Fans in the Stands

You have read about and know that State Summer Games will take place on May 22-24th (Memorial Day Weekend) in Hammond, LA on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University.  But, did you know that our Opening Ceremonies will be held on Friday, May 24th at 7:30p in Strawberry Stadium?  It’s true!  We want you to be a FAN in the Stands!  Come out an cheer on our athletes!

Law Enforcement Torch Run

Each summer, law enforcement officials carry the Flame of Hope across the state culminating with the Torch Run Final Leg, and the lighting of the cauldron to officially open the Special Olympics Louisiana State Summer Games in Hammond. This torch relay involves more than 1,500 law enforcement officers and personnel representing more than 200 law enforcement agencies across Louisiana. The 2015 Law Enforcement Torch Run will take place on May 18th-May 22nd.

April 16 marks the official 100 Days Away countdown to the World Games! As part of the celebration, we’re inviting you to install the new LA2015 app, snap a photo, add the Circle of Inclusion to it and post it to social media!

Join thousands of World Games fans and show the world that acceptance and inclusion are what Special Olympics is all about!

Step 1: Download the app and register via Facebook (or your email address).

Step 2: Check into the “Join the Circle” event in the app.

Step 3: Start a post, snap your photo and add the built-in Circle of Inclusion photo filter.

Step 4: Submit your post. It will appear as a post in the “Join the Circle” event stream, so there’s just one more step!

Step 5: Find your post in the event stream and share your post on Facebook or Twitter.

Here are some other things you can do in the app:

  • Receive important notifications, follow other World Games app users, make friends and message them personally.
  • Join the conversation in forums.
  • Get event information (with the ability to bookmark the events you plan to attend), and easy access to all things World Games.

100 Days Till LA!

In 100 days, the 2015 Special Olympics World Games will begin when the cauldron is lit at the Opening Ceremony in Los Angeles. You can get involved by carrying the torch as the Flame of Hope travels across the country, hitting every state, in the first-ever Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America presented by Bank of America.
