Attention St. Tammany!

Volleyball Team With Play Unified Ball

Special Olympics Louisiana is starting a new team in St. Tammany Parish called the Florida Parishes Pride. This sports program will give opportunities to local children and adults with intellectual disabilities who may already participate in our program through schools or agencies and will also welcome new members who have never participated in Special Olympics. This program will concentrate on developing a positive atmosphere in the community for people with intellectual disabilities and their families.  Athletes, coaches, and family members will experience the joy of competing against athletes around the state and the nation. Athletes will work towards advancement to higher level competitions such as area invitationals, state competitions, and USA Games. The Special Olympics Sports Day scheduled on Saturday, November 12, has been postponed until a later date.

$1.7 Billion Worth of Service Hours Donated by Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus set a new all-time record last year for charitable donations worldwide with $175,079,192 in donations and more than 73.5 million hours of service valued at $1.7 billion dollars. Many of those hours were earned here in Louisiana at various Special Olympics Louisiana events held across the state. Special Olympics Louisiana (SOLA) could not be more thankful for the hard work and dedication of the Knights of Columbus. SOLA is both proud and appreciative to have these selfless volunteers serve our programs and our athletes. Thank you for all you do across the globe!

Louisiana disaster survivors in East Baton Rouge, Livingston, St. Helena, and Tangipahoa parishes are urged to register for federal disaster assistance with FEMA. Individuals and business owners in the designated parishes who had severe storm or flood damage may register for assistance the following ways:
