Join us for the exhibition of “Brave in the Attempt: Special Olympics in Louisiana” at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame & Northwest Louisiana History Museum in Natchitoches. This exhibition highlights the history of Special Olympics with a focus on the organization’s efforts in Louisiana. The foundation for Special Olympics Louisiana was built at the 1968 Special Olympics Games, held on Soldier’s Field in Chicago. The exhibit opened May 5, 2018 and will be open throughout the year in honor of Special Olympics Louisiana’s 50th Anniversary.

Tennis Athletes Bring Home Gold

The 2014 Special Olympics North America Tennis Championships were held November 6-8 in Hilton Head, South Carolina. We are so proud of Team Louisiana who brought home all gold medals! Jamarcus Dennis won Gold in singles and in doubles! Chris Blanchard also won Gold in both singles and doubles! Chris and Jamarcus defeated Special Olympics Illinois 4-0, 4-0 and Special Olympics Massachusetts 4-0, 4-2 in a 10-5 tie break in the doubles match. Tom Palczynski is the athletes Head Coach and Cindy Landry served as Head of Delegation. Congratulations, guys!
