Fans in the Stands!

Opening Ceremonies will be held TONIGHT, Friday, May 18th at 7:30 pm in Strawberry Stadium at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. We want you to be a FAN in the Stands!  Come out and cheer on our athletes! On Saturday and Sunday, the fun continues as we start competition.  Our athletes have trained long and hard for this event and are ready to do their best. All they need is you in the stands to cheer them on!

Hammond Smokin’ BBQ Challenge TONIGHT

The 15th Annual Hammond Smokin’ BBQ Challenge kicks off tonight located in Downtown Hammond, Louisiana. More Than 60 KCBS TEAMS from around the U.S. will compete against each other and local teams for more than $12,000 in Cash & Prizes. This year’s event will also feature 60+ local teams competing in the Backyard Boogie and the Lamar Outdoor Advertising Chicken Little Contest, making this event the largest BBQ event in the State of Louisiana for the 15th year in a row.

The event also features local bands from around the region playing music on the Northshore Broadcasting stage both Friday night and Saturday. Come and enjoy world class BBQ and listen to local favorites. The Smokin’ Hammond BBQ Challenge is a FREE event. No tickets required. Make sure to visit the Backyard Boogie Contestant area for some delicious treats – Tip-2-Taste! All donations from Tip-2-Taste benefit local charities, including Special Olympics Louisiana!

Hammond Blues & BBQ!

Downtown Hammond, LA will be hosting its annual Smokin’ BBQ Challenge March 24th-March 25th, 2017. Special Olympics Louisiana is very fortunate to be one of the beneficiaries of this event.

Tomorrow we will be at the Southeastern Louisiana University Career Fair from 9am-2:30pm.  If you are a current or former SLU student, please come stop by our table and sign up to volunteer or intern with us!

Support SOLA at Hot August Night TONIGHT!

If you’re in the Hammond area, come out and support Special Olympics Louisiana tonight, August 12, at Hot August Nights. From 6pm-10pm, SOLA will be selling nachos and hamburgers in the Kids Zone. Stop by, say hi to some of our athletes, and grab a bite to eat!
