Polar Plunge helps raise funds and awareness for our athletes. It is one of our largest fundraisers this year. Why not become apart of something that will create fun-filled memories and leave you feeling “cool”?

Support SOLA at Hot August Night TONIGHT!

SOLA LogoIf you’re in the Hammond area, come out and support Special Olympics Louisiana tonight, August 12, at Hot August Nights. From 6pm-10pm, SOLA will be selling nachos and hamburgers in the Kids Zone. Stop by, say hi to some of our athletes, and grab a bite to eat!

SOL Bowl

 

On Sunday, June 12th, 2016 Special Olympics Louisiana will be hosting our SOL Bowl event at Colonial Bowling Lanes located at 6601 Jefferson Highway in Harahan, Louisiana. It will be celebrities, you, and your crew bowling on a team together! You and your three closest buds, co-workers, or family members will have DSC00925the opportunity to bowl with local celebrities and show them who the true champion really is. Raffles and auctions will take place with winning items signed by local celebrities, and there also will be tons of great prizes provided by local businesses. SOL Bowl helps change the lives of thousands of children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Special Olympics Louisiana. SOL Bowl will be a day packed with great food, music, and company. Hammond Smokin’ BBQ Challenge

This weekend, March 27-28, Downtown Hammond will host “Hammond Smokin’ BBQ Challenge.” This event will feature bbq’ers from across the country along with locals competing the the Backyard Boogie.  It is sponsored by KCBS and is the largest state-sanctioned bbq event in the state.  There is also opportunities for “Chicken Little” for bbq’ers under the age of 16. Local bands will also be featured at this 2-day event.

Cayenne Pepper and Teammates

Coach Sandoz couldn’t have said it any better. Team Louisiana’s Unified Flag Football team has been putting on quite a show at the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games. The team has been showing off their dance moves during half time. Yesterday, the team was losing going into the half, but once they got done dancing, they came back and won the game!
